This Privacy Policy explains how VOD Chatter LLC (“VOD Chatter,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the VOD Chatter website and services (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Policy and our Terms of Service.

VOD Chatter is designed to be privacy-respectful by default. We intentionally avoid invasive tracking, advertising technologies, and cross-site user profiling. We do not operate as an ad network, data broker, or behavioral analytics platform.

1. Who Can Use the Platform

The Platform is intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old. VOD Chatter is operated from the United States and may be accessed by users worldwide, subject to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.

By using the Platform, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate, which may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly, information automatically collected through your use of the Platform, information received from third-party service providers, and information derived from aggregated or de-identified analytics.

The categories of information we collect include:

Account Information: email address, password hash, usernames, account preferences, notification settings, and other configuration information you choose to provide.
Subscription & Payment Information: identifiers and metadata associated with subscriptions, gifts, invoices, payouts, and transactions processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe. VOD Chatter does not store full payment card numbers.
Creator Payout Information: information required by payment providers to facilitate payouts and compliance, which may include identity verification and tax-related data. Sensitive financial details are stored by those providers, not by VOD Chatter.
Technical & Usage Information: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, timestamps, pages viewed, feature interactions, and operational logs generated for security, reliability, and performance.
Aggregated & De-Identified Data: usage patterns, viewer counts, engagement totals, and similar metrics that do not reasonably identify an individual.

3. Local Storage, Cookies & Similar Technologies

VOD Chatter uses limited first-party browser storage and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the Platform. These are used for purposes such as:

maintaining sessions and security protections;
preventing duplicate actions or abuse;
supporting core features like live viewer counts;
remembering functional preferences (such as accessibility settings); and
improving performance and reliability through caching.

We do not use these technologies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or behavioral profiling.

Because these technologies are used solely for essential platform functionality and privacy-preserving analytics, VOD Chatter is not required to display cookie consent banners or overlays.

If we introduce non-essential tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices or controls required by applicable law.

4. Analytics & Performance Measurement

We use privacy-focused analytics and infrastructure monitoring tools to understand aggregate usage trends, measure performance, and improve reliability. These tools are configured to avoid cross-site tracking, advertising identifiers, or individual user profiling.

Analytics data is used only in aggregated or de-identified form and is not sold or shared for advertising purposes.

5. How We Use Information

operating, maintaining, and securing the Platform;
creating and managing accounts and subscriptions;
processing payments, gifts, and Creator payouts;
detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
analyzing aggregate usage to improve features and performance;
displaying public community features such as leaderboards that may show usernames or display names and engagement metrics (for example, Fan totals and subscription counts);
complying with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

6. How We Share Information

We share information only where reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, including with:

Payment Providers: such as Stripe;
Infrastructure & Security Providers: such as hosting, networking, and database providers;
Creators: limited engagement information related to their channels;
Legal & Compliance Recipients: where required by law or legal process.

VOD Chatter does not sell personal information and does not participate in advertising-based data sharing.

7. Your Choices & Account Deletion

You may manage account settings and delete your account using in-product tools. We may retain certain information where required for security, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal compliance.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for operational, legal, and security purposes. Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained indefinitely.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, but no system is completely secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted.
